This guy in my German class at PCC a few years ago used to make me a lot of mix cds. And we didn't really ever even talk about music. Anyway, he included this track on one. This song is SO absolutely BRILLIANT and no one seems to have heard it before!
It's my against-the-odds-ambition anthem.

It's time for a social break. I'm juggling a ton of projects - all that have super tight, yet semi-abstract deadlines, but with no time to do them. Right now I spend four hours a day commuting by bus between work and where I'm living. If you factor that in with eight hours of sleep, 8.5 hours at work, time to go grocery shopping, eat a meal, and take a shower, that leaves very little time to breathe let alone design shirts and dresses for two upcoming tours, finish an interview feature, make travel arrangements to Sasquatch and Vancouver BC, write about stuff on my own unrelated to music, and finish my entries for the Multnomah County fair. Plus my sublet ends on June 1st, so I have to find a new place to live before then. I am getting really good at finding ways to get distracted lately. On my days off I am basically comatose.
So yeah. I'm taking a break from going out dancing and to concerts for the next week. It will be nice.
In other news, Not on the Guest List has experienced some fantastic ups recently! Since last month, daily unique visits have doubled from 200 a day to an average of 400! That's like the same as Yeti Don't Dance, and a little more than 300 away from Grizzly Bear's blog's daily readership. Crazy! Subscriptions have doubled too!
Last Sunday, Largehearted Boy featured NotGL in a post, which means a lot since I used to pitch bands to him all the time while working at 2:30 Publicity and then he randomly notices this blog. I LOVE his! The very next day Urban Outfitter's blog linked to NotGL! - thanks to Marisa. Later in the week a link from Golden Fiddle followed, as well as from Urban Honking's Let's Get Famous, plus another from Sound on the Sound today. Yay!
There are some SUPREMELY cool things to be posted on this site before the end of the month. Actually, I'm thinking of one in particular. I am still hyper-ventilating because of it. Someone pass me a paper bag. Two words: Guest Podcast. Stay tuned for it/who it is in about a week or so's time. . .
