"Does it make you want to party?"
It should.

Sweaty - Muscles
I happened upon Muscles via Modular's myspazz. I immediately changed their player to another artist as his name really didn't appeal to me. I LOVED the song I changed it to - something about icecream. I scrolled back up to find out who I'd changed it to and lo and behold he was the only artist with "icecream" in a song title, so apparently the song selection never switched and I am oh so thankful it didn't. I imagine underwear parties soundtracked by this song.
I have never heard stupid fun sang so well.

How We Do - Mount Sims
In LUST with this song as I've previously stated. Loving his new songs on his myspazz too!

In My Arms - Kylie Minogue
God - I am ADDICTED to this track off her forth-coming album X. Actually, I don't think addicted even begins to describe my relationship with this song. The intro totally reminds me of the Flying Lizards' "Money."

Acceptable in the '80's - Calvin Harris
I was born in 1985, so I'm assuming based on what Calvin is telling me in this song, that he has love for me. What a great profession to begin our make-believe relationship with.

Radio Ladio - Metronomy
My first reaction upon hearing this was 1. to sing-along, 2. email Metronomy, and 3. pray it wasn't about Edith Bowman - I mean she already got Tom from Editors. She needs to take away Joseph Mount now too?
So I was actually supposed to sorta debut this track as arranged with Metronomy who told me he's read NotGL which prompted me to near faint. Only it got out on Headphone Sex first which was a tad disappointing as I pushed back including it in a podcast here at his suggestion. So yeah - thanks to Pat for sending me the link. Since then it's been on steady rotation in my itunes.

Do It Again - Chemical Brothers
"Let's turn this thing electric!"

Modern Vision - Goose
I've literally been saving this track for a certain podcast for months. I LOVE these Belgians! God - this song is seriously serious! Has been one of my top ten tracks for a while. The synths are so addictive. They almost sound criminal.

Little Birds - We Are Wolves
When will they come to Portland!!??!!! I hope they wear ponchos and skulls.

Elvis - These New Puritans
Simon from Klaxons introduced me to them describing them as a bit industrial. They'll be accompanying the trio/quartet on their huge gigantic UK tour come this winter (alongside Portland's Fist Fite).

Do the Whirlwind - Architecture in Helsinki
Let's go semi-oldskool (oldskool now denoting something more than a year-old hahaha) with this track. I enjoy how many Australian artists make appearances on this podcast. Leigh introduced me to them at at the end of 2005 I believe.

The Bears Are Coming - Late of the Pier
In an email I got from them they said they just rerecorded this with Erol Alkan. Bliss!

Yr City's A Sucker - LCD Soundsystem
I made a stencil a while ago immortalizing the lyrics "Sex with TV stars." It's kind of awesome. I always think of Eva Longoria when James Murphy utters the phrase.

In relatedness:
Arya does a podcast called These Are the Days. Since we share the same birthday, I contributed a few tracks to his latest beginning 25 minutes in. Be prepared - I could not sound anymore lame. I thought it had to be all local since his podcasts typically are, but upon finding out I'd be coming in right after an Avril track, I made a few amendments. I burned a CD a few minutes prior to joining him at the station and included a couple non-local tracks and that's what makes up my selection- Sweaty by Muscles, 2080 (which I totally stole from a podcast Foals made me for NotGL that I'll post super soon) by Yeasayer (who I don't honestly believe are better than Fleetwood Mac), Paint by Jonathan Byerley (exaggerated), and Circle Square Triangle by Test Icicles which wasn't on the CD, but as soon as I found out I could have international people I knew TI HAD to be on it. What better band to celebrate my birthday with?
My favorite part is at 38:25. Have I overanalyzed my segment? I don't believe so hahahaha
Go download the podcast that also features an enjoyable Eskimo & Sons track and is book-ended with a Bob Dylan story here.

The podcast I posted last year for my B-day.
